Thinking about Binance for your first Bitcoin purchase or access to more cryptocurrencies? The name is familiar, but that does not answer the questions that matter at signup: which Binance service can you use, how will you fund it, and what will you actually pay?
At BitcoinLink, we find Binance most interesting when you want several uses in one place: spot purchases, market tracking and trading tools. For a monthly Bitcoin purchase, we would first examine payment and the total cost through withdrawal. A long feature list cannot replace an understandable purchase.
Here is our assessment and what we would check before registration.
Check your country first. A historical French registration does not establish present service eligibility after the MiCA transition. Binance withdrew its Greek application on June 24, 2026. We have not confirmed a new authorisation or account opening for French residents as of October 5, 2026. Local offers such as Binance.US and Binance Japan have separate conditions. An accessible signup screen is not proof of eligibility.

What interests us about Binance
Binance brings together several ways to buy and manage crypto. That may reduce the need to switch platforms as your needs evolve, provided the relevant services are available to your account.
We would still begin with one question: what do you want to do? Buying €100 of Bitcoin, trading a particular pair and withdrawing to your own wallet require different tools.
Spot markets let you inspect orders and choose an order type. Quick-buy and conversion routes prioritise convenience. Compare the crypto you actually receive: fewer screens do not necessarily mean lower costs.
Our main reservation is the breadth of the offering. Beginners may need time to understand the menus. We would select a few useful functions first and expand gradually.
How Binance built its brand
Binance launched in July 2017. Associated with co-founders Changpeng Zhao and Yi He, it developed from a crypto exchange into a wider set of trading, payment and educational services.
That history explains the current identity: Binance aims to offer more than a place to buy a coin. Its app combines several uses, while Binance Academy provides educational material.
For BitcoinLink, breadth should serve your needs. We would not choose Binance simply because its name is well known; the tool, price and contracting entity must fit your situation.
Can you use Binance in your country?
Website language does not determine eligibility. Check residence, contracting entity and accessible services. Binance international, Binance.US and Binance Japan are not one identical offer.
France and Europe: historical registration versus MiCA
France’s AMF states that the transitional period allowing certain providers to operate without MiCA authorisation ended on July 1, 2026. An older French registration therefore does not establish current availability.
On June 24, 2026, Binance announced withdrawal of its Greek MiCA application and plans to seek authorisation in another member state. It said some customers would be affected depending on country and account and would receive direct communications.
We have not confirmed a new authorisation or resumed signup for French residents as of our verification date. Obtain current confirmation of the authorised entity and available services before funding an account.
Existing customers should review their own notifications and withdrawal options. Their permissions do not establish what a new customer can do.
Other countries and local offers
Check the rules for your actual residence. US and Japanese offerings require a separate assessment; the international catalogue, fee schedule and process below do not automatically apply to them.
What are Binance’s fees?
Separate payment, trading and withdrawal. The complete cost matters for a Bitcoin purchase.
Spot fees and the BNB discount
The international regular-user schedule lists these reference rates:
| Category | Maker | Taker |
|---|---|---|
| Standard spot | 0.100% | 0.100% |
| Standard spot with applicable BNB discount | 0.075% | 0.075% |
| Fiat pairs under the dedicated schedule | 0.100% | 0.150% |
| Fiat pairs with applicable BNB discount | 0.075% | 0.1125% |
A maker order adds liquidity; a taker uses existing liquidity. Certain pairs, including USDC pairs, promotions and categories have different conditions. VIP levels and account settings also matter.
The 25% BNB discount requires the relevant conditions and payment setting. Check the rate for your order. These figures do not automatically describe local services.
Do you need to buy BNB?
Buying BNB is not a required step in the signup described here. Frequent traders may value the discount, but we would calculate the saving first.
On a hypothetical €1,000 trade at 0.100%, the fee is €1. With a 25% discount, it is €0.75: a €0.25 saving. Compare that with the BNB you hold and its price fluctuations.
Quick buying, funding and withdrawal
For quick buys or conversions, compare the amount paid with the crypto received. A quote may include a difference from the market price; no separate trading commission does not necessarily mean no cost.
Fiat methods and charges vary by country and provider, so we would not give one universal bank-transfer rate. For crypto withdrawals, inspect network, minimum and fee at the time of the operation.
Which features deserve attention?
To begin, we would focus on spot trading, balances and withdrawal. The app offers Lite and Pro routes, but simpler screens still require a final-price comparison.
Earn, automated tools, margin and derivatives serve other needs and depend on eligibility. An advertised yield is not guaranteed profit; redemption terms and risks need to be understood. Derivatives can add leverage, funding and liquidation.
Your first account can stay focused on spot purchases. You do not need to use every product to benefit from the platform.
Is Binance trustworthy?
Account protection
Binance documents stronger authentication and approved withdrawal-address lists. Configure protection before funding and retain recovery methods. Checks or restrictions can affect sensitive operations; follow the instructions for your account.
Reserves and SAFU
Binance publishes reserve information and balance-verification tools. We would examine the date, assets and method. Proof of reserves is not a complete picture of all company obligations.
SAFU is an emergency fund created in July 2018. It may help cover certain extreme incidents, but it is not an automatic guarantee for every personal loss or public deposit insurance.
The record
In May 2019, Binance disclosed theft of 7,000 BTC from a hot wallet and said SAFU would cover the loss.
On November 21, 2023, Binance pleaded guilty in the US in a case involving anti-money-laundering obligations and sanctions. The agreement included approximately $4.3 billion in penalties and compliance measures. These historical facts alone do not establish each entity’s current permissions.
Our concern is durable access and how you could recover assets if conditions changed.

How to create a Binance account
This process is only for eligible users of the chosen entity. Local procedures can differ.
- Confirm accepted residence and entity. For France and Europe, clarify current status first.
- Choose a signup method. The app guide includes email, phone and Apple/Google accounts depending on the offered route.
- Check referral terms if applicable. A code is optional; read the offer before expecting a reward. The guide says a linked code cannot subsequently be changed.
- Complete KYC. New users need identity verification to access services, including documents and a liveness check. Further information may be required locally.
- Secure the account and prepare funding. Compare the methods actually offered, charges and conditions.
If eligible, have identification and a payment method ready before starting.

Your first purchase and withdrawal
We would start with a limited amount. Compare price, crypto received and fees across available purchase routes. On spot, market orders prioritise immediate execution; limit orders specify your price without guaranteeing a fill.
For crypto deposits and withdrawals, check the address, compatible network and memo or tag where required. A cheaper network is useful only if the receiving wallet supports it.
Check minimum, fee and net amount before confirming. Timing depends on platform processing and blockchain confirmations. History and the transaction ID help track the transfer.
At BitcoinLink, withdrawal is part of the evaluation: you should understand how to send Bitcoin to your chosen wallet.
What about welcome bonuses?
A bonus may accompany registration, but we would not choose a platform for an advertised headline amount.
Offers can combine fee coupons, trial funds and deposit- or trading-dependent rewards. Check type, expiry, country eligibility and withdrawal conditions. A maximum is not necessarily money available at signup.
Our verdict
Binance can be useful if you need multiple tools, understand spot trading and have confirmed access where you live. We like the possibility of beginning simply and using other functions as needed.
For a first Bitcoin purchase, we would judge the complete price and ease of withdrawal. French residents should obtain current confirmation of the authorised entity and access before funding.
If eligible and the process suits you, prepare your identity documents, choose funding and review account-opening conditions.

Frequently asked questions
Can French residents open an account?
We have not confirmed current access as of the verification date. Historical registration is insufficient after the MiCA transition; check the authorised entity and account conditions.
Can I use Binance without KYC?
New users need identity verification to access services.
Are fees always 0.1%?
No. That is a standard spot reference. Fiat and USDC pairs, promotions, VIP levels and discounts can change it.
Must I buy BNB?
It is not a required signup step. Compare possible savings with holding risk.
What does a Bitcoin withdrawal cost?
Check the current fee and minimum for a compatible network at withdrawal time.
Is Binance suitable for beginners?
Eligible users can begin with spot if they understand funding, orders and withdrawal. We would leave complex products for a clearly identified later need.
